We offer one-to-one guidance coaching over the phone with a dedicated coach, providing a free, accessible, personal and flexible service.

We bring the many and varied tools of coaching to our short, targeted programme which is tailored to the needs of each individual.

We work with our clients to develop practical solutions which help them to understand the present and influence the future. We also provide ongoing, out of session support to help them stay on track and achieve their goals.

All they need in return is the desire to make a change and the commitment to making that change matter.

"A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be" Tom Landry, NFL Coach
Our Shine-Coaching Values
We had a fantastic exploratory session facilitated by Shine's own coach Nick who brought
together volunteers and coaches and directors to pin down what our values as an organisation are.
It was wonderful to hear such diverse ways of looking at an organisation & exemplified why celebrating
the various ways we look at values is important.
Narrowing them down to make sense of our values looks like this...

My name is Fiona, I am from East Lancashire and I am a guidance coach. I am one of the founders of Shine Coaching.
I believe that when people are listened to and their voice is heard, it opens up a multitude of possibilities for growth and change and they are able to see themselves from a different perspective. I love working with people and particularly enjoy using coaching as a tool to assist those people in reaching their full potential.
My background is working with community groups to teach assertiveness, confidence, self defence, substance misuse and I am qualified in those areas plus coaching & adult education. I have specialised in conflict coaching for 8 years.
Our Approach

Anger
Everyone gets frustrated. We all feel annoyed and irritated by certain things, at certain times in our lives. We all get angry. Yet we all deal with this emotion in different ways.

Consequences
Men have been speaking to us about learning how to express themselves and deal with their anger more positively. They have been reaching out for help, and with no obvious support pathway in place, this is where Shine Coaching comes in.

support
We offer goal-oriented, practical solutions for men to reduce anger and conflict and, as a result, improve their mental health and wellbeing.

support
We are able to provide a service that is free of charge for men living in the Lancashire area because we receive valuable funding from the National Lottery

support
Each session is conducted over the phone, which creates a layer of anonymity and confidentiality and gives the men we help the opportunity to open up more freely and without restraint.

support
“Simply put, coaching is where you work with someone to connect with yourself, re-design your environment and your life, and then take action to implement it” Emma-Louise Elsey

support
Coaching seeks to change ingrained habits and this is done by breaking associations and patterns of thinking related to the behaviour you wish to change.

support
It is a very forward looking, positive method of healing, which focuses on structured, motivational techniques.

support
The rapport and therapeutic bond formed between coach and client are fundamental to its success and provide the encouragement and inspiration to keep the client on track to reach their goals.
